2nd Floor Rear—Chicago’s festival of art in experimental contexts—presents BUILD at Hume!

Acierto’s BUILD is a project that invites youth and the public to participate in the shared exhibition of their breath. As a method of visualizing the (often) invisible, this project allows for the breath to remain present in the space and for participants to connect to others in the community. This project is done in collaboration with Veronica Stein and Youth Service Project.

2nd Floor Rear is an annual DIY festival of art in experimental contexts, apartment galleries, and ephemeral and migrant projects, celebrating Chicago’s vibrant community of alternative art spaces.

The festival is made up of multiple events scheduled concurrently and back-to-back, which take place at various locations throughout a cluster of designated neighborhoods. Events for 2nd Floor Rear 2016 will take place throughout North Side neighborhoods near the Blue Line on Saturday, February 6, and throughout South Side neighborhoods near the Pink Line on Sunday, February 7.
